Workforce strategy & organizational design

Workforce designed to
perform at every level.

Sequoia Workforce Solutions helps organizations align their workforce to their strategy — designing the structures, capabilities, and people systems that drive sustained performance.

What we do

Workforce strategy and organizational design across the full enterprise.

Every engagement is built around the same premise: structure and strategy only deliver results when the workforce is designed to execute them.

01

Workforce strategy

We help leadership teams define the workforce model their strategy requires — the size, shape, skills, and structure of the organization needed to compete and grow.

02

Organizational design

We design reporting structures, spans of control, and decision rights that reduce friction and put accountability where the work actually happens.

03

Capability & skills planning

We assess the capabilities the organization has today against what the strategy demands tomorrow, then build the roadmap to close the gap through hiring, development, or restructuring.

04

Workforce planning & headcount modeling

We build the demand models, scenario plans, and headcount frameworks that give leadership a clear view of what the workforce needs to look like over a 1–3 year horizon.

05

Restructuring & transformation advisory

We advise on restructuring, layer reduction, and organizational transformation — designing the new structure and managing the transition without losing operational momentum.

06

Role design & job architecture

We build job architectures, role families, and leveling frameworks that bring consistency to how work is defined, graded, and compensated across the organization.

Structure, by design

The way an organization is structured is one of the most consequential decisions leadership makes — and one of the least often revisited.

We bring fresh eyes and a structured methodology to how your workforce is designed — and we stay through implementation to make sure it holds.

Our approach

Four stages, applied to every engagement.

The sequence is constant. The workforce strategy we build is specific to your organization, your industry, and where you need to grow.

Diagnose
We assess the current state of the workforce — structure, capabilities, roles, and spans of control — building a fact-based picture of where it's aligned and where it isn't.
i.
Design
We design the organizational structures, workforce models, and capability frameworks the business needs to execute its strategy at scale.
ii.
Plan
We translate the design into a workforce plan — headcount, skills, sequencing, and the investment required to close the gap between today and the target state.
iii.
Implement
We work alongside leadership through implementation, adjusting the design as real organizational dynamics surface and stabilizing the new structure.
iv.
"Organizational design is strategy made real. Every role, every structure, every reporting line is either accelerating you or slowing you down."

About the firm

Built for organizations whose workforce and strategy need to move together.

Sequoia Workforce Solutions is a workforce strategy and organizational design firm. We partner with organizations navigating growth, restructuring, or strategic change who need their workforce aligned with where they're going — not where they've been.

The name reflects how we think about the work: sequoias grow slowly and become the tallest living things on earth, sustained by root systems that run far wider than any single tree. We take the same view of organizations — the most durable ones are built on structures that distribute strength broadly, not concentrated at the top.

Our consultants come from strategy and organizational design roles inside large and complex organizations. We've lived the structures we're asked to redesign, which is why our recommendations hold up when they meet organizational reality.
